Dr. Bill Haag, my wife Marilyn and I made a trip across the border to Mexico near Weslaco, Texas to do mission work in Nuevo Progresso and Rio Bravo. During our trip, we saw over 50 people receive the Lord as Savior. Praise the Lord.
We were very well received wherever we went. People eagerly received tracts and wanted to hear about how they could KNOW that they had eternal life and a home in heaven through Jesus Christ.
For most of the week, we stayed ministered in Nuevo Progresso. We were able to do several meetings in the park as well as pass out gospel literature down the main street which has many open air shops (and people!). We also went door to door in the neighborhood of our sponsoring church “Victoria in Jesus” which is an independent fundamental baptist church in Nuevo Progresso.
On Wednesday night we held a big service. We invited the neighborhood to free pizza and a coke and a “magic” show in which Dr Haag and I did many object lessons that taught a gospel message. The place was packed out! Marilyn and I and several members of the church were passing out pizza for at least a half and hour. Needless to say we had a bunch of pizzas!
On Thursday night we held services in Rio Bravo and even though we did not have any special promotion, we still had good attendance. What a great trip. Praise the Lord for blessing our travels and our work there.
