2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
In order to become a butterfly, a caterpillar needs to bury itself into a cocoon first. In time, the caterpillar emerges from the cocoon as a butterfly.
So too with us. In order for us receive our new body, we need to discard our old body first. But after our soul departs the old body, we get a glorified body like Christ’s.
God makes the buttterfly after the “death” of the caterpillar and God makes us like Christ after the death of our mortal body. Paul says “we have a building…”
Praise the Lord He is able to make “caterpillars into butterflies”.
