2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We are made the “righteousness of God in him.” Blessed thought. Amazing truth. In one verse God explains the problem and cure for a fallen race. But the question often is asked, “Why did God allow Adam and Eve to fall in the first place?”
Let me give one possibility. If God wanted to display His attributes of holiness and righteousness as well as His love, mercy, and grace, how could He do it?
Well, I suppose one way He could demonstate His attributes would be to create a Devil and a sinner. God would need a Devil so that He, being holy and righteous, could judge the Devil for His evil. In addition, God would need a sinner so that He, being love, mercy and grace, could show these attributes by dying as an atonement for their sin. Sound like a plan?
To God be the glory, great things He hath done!
